BOTOX APPLICATION

It is an injection method applied by administering botulinum toxin into the relevant muscle. A very small amount of botulinum toxin is injected into the facial muscles responsible for the movements that create lines and wrinkles. This injection weakens the muscles, thus reducing the associated lines and wrinkles. It is much less effective for fine structure changes on the skin surface and lines that exist at rest. Relaxation in the muscles lasts for 3-6 months, so it must be repeated regularly to maintain the effect. After application to the targeted muscles, its effect increases progressively within 3-5 days and is completed within 10-12 days. During this period, you may notice asymmetry in the applied areas, but this will correct itself as the medicine takes effect. Botox is also used in wrinkle removal, underarm sweating and recently in migraine treatment. For reasons that are not fully understood, some people are less sensitive or resistant to the effects of botulinum toxin. In these people, the effect of botulinum toxin may not be as good or long-lasting as expected, or it may not have any effect at all.

       HOW TO DO THIS PROCEDURE

The treatment area is disinfected with ANTISEPTIC solution. Botox material is injected into the muscle from several points with very fine-tipped special needles. There is no pain complaint that disturbs the patient during the application. The patient is not laid down, but placed in a semi-sitting position. Injections are administered intramuscularly with 30 G needles at a 30 - 45 degree angle. An average of 1-7 U of Botox is injected into each point (your doctor may change this dose).
